Level completed

Had my thai lang test yesterday. Learning and memorising vocabs aint the toughest thing, guess putting them together and expressing myself in a non verbal retard way is. And yup, I would be advancing to Level 2 ^^. Would be visiting another lang school to see if their classes are better than YMCA's. Had lotsa fun learning thai in YMCA but the teacher can hardly speak english and most of the time she cant understand us... so... yup, another obstacle there.

And... I've booked the tickets yesterday! Mdm would be back from 19th-29th October! *Dance* Gotta get MM to book a slot with Jeremy for me... I need him to work on my hair!! And once I get home, I'm gotta give Delsea a big big hug.

Off to BKK then Vietnam tomorrow. Yea~. Trips are always good. We're gonna eat lots of Pho Pho Pho. We've booked a room with this boutique hotel in BKK that has this cheena and oriental feel. Check this out http://www.shanghai-inn.com/

I'll be back ^^

Virgin buy

I am super addicted to Kao Soi. Very very yummy!!! This laksa look-alike is becoming my staple. It's less oily than laksa and much tastier. While driving home this morning, I had my lone virgin takeaway and the whole purchase was done in Thai! The classes have proofed their worth ^^.

Bought this from a shop that's supposed to be a famous Kao Soi restaurant in Chiangmai. With photos of Thaksin pasted on the wall, it very much reminded me of the Fa Qi Ren Bak Ku Teh shop in Balestier. For this yummy brunch, I'd just spent 30 baht! I reckon with 100 baht per day, I would be a very happy Mdm. Me is a easy wife to feed.

Oh oh... and P has gotten his Singapore PR! Yuppie! We would be going back to Sg soon for the paper work and all. We havent gotten our tickets yet but we would be going back for sure cos we were given a deadline of 2 months from the date of approval (i.e. XX September 2007). Yea~

Will be off to BKK and Vietnam next week. Wee~ wee~ wee~. It's shopping time! Super looking forward to our trip. Come to think of it, this is our first trip out of Thailand, Singapore and Australia together. Lovely ~

Brush brush brush

Over the past week, I had completed my first painting.

And... Tadaaahhhh!!!!

Amateurish, but well, it's my first time! *Dance*

Took these on my birthday to capture our various emotions. No particular reason for doing it, we had just done it out of fun and laughed like crazy over them. P's definitely a worthy Oscar nominee. Wakhaha.

Havent been online a lot these days cos P's bro is out of town and we have to stay over at his place for guard duty. Would be a very nice place to live in if P hadnt used his might on the pathetic tap and somehow damaged the piping system. We have to turn off the water mains cos the pipe seems to have bursted. And for this reason, going to the loo is a chore.

Was on our way to my in-laws farmhouse when we saw this herd of cattle. Me being me, the excited Singaporean, we stopped our car by the roadside and I managed to take some shots of the vast field and the herd. Pics are in P's phone so uploading would have to wait till he's back.

Anywayz, upon jumping back excitedly into the car I was smart enough for this:

"Why is it that your parents never have cattle in their field?"
"Why the hell do you think we are selling tractors?"

O..O

Misc

Had a very yummy japanese meal last friday. The one uber nice thing about here is that food is good and cheap. Our dinner on the following day was at Duke's, my first proper western meal here and the portion was humongous. We took away some ribs and fillet which are still in the fridge. With the amount of food getting into my stomach, I'm keeping my fingers cross for my waistline. Anyway, the yummy japanese curry led us to the supermarket the following evening and... tadaahhh:

Did our own japanese curry yesterday. Meat's kinda too tough but overall it's still a good try. LOL. How hard can it be stirring the paste. Keke.

Have started picking up the guitar again in the past week =). And... my hubby bought me this! ^-^.

Yea! Me's gng to start painting! I'm going to be a painter! Rather excited about this cos I've always wanted to paint (as oppose to my regular senseless doodling).

And in my attempt to have a balanced diet, me is increasing my intake of fruits. And this is my new-found pet fruit:

The custard apples here are very very yummy. Granny used to have a custard apple tree at the back of her house and occasionally, she would pass some to us. I dont remember hers tasting as nice as the ones we get in thailand. The good thing is fresh fruits are widely available here and fruits dont make me fat.

That's all for now.

Spinning ard and ard and ard

Kinda getting harder and harder to fall asleep. Missing home and lots more... and... feeling kinda weird these few days. Feeling alone... not lonely, just alone. I hate this feeling.

Bite bite bite

A lazy man

is a happy man

Was having my first lone venture around town this afternoon. Some random pics:

Sat in this rather decent cafe for like an hour. Was having a yummy cup of ice mocha while reading my novel until I was attacked by some irritating mosquitoes. Mosquitoes never ever seem to let me off here. Argghh. Sitting in cafes (alone) is something that only MM will do. Gotta kill me to do that back in Sg. It's too much like a poser activity. My pace has slowed down so much that I can now absolutely appreciate this as a non-poser activity. Am I appreciating life or just succumbing to it.

Island

Am sitting back and enjoying my cup of coffee now. P's attending a meeting and would be back at 2pm... so, I'm now sitting alone in front of the com. Enjoying this moment to myself actually =). Not too much of it though. It will bring me to tears with boredom again. Guess these few hours of personal time would be sufficient.

Used to think that I'm one who prioritize love life above others and would be happily living with my prince on a long forsaken island. Motion is overthrown! Guess the existence of other beings on planet earth is as important to me as the existence of self. Me is not a party whore but me need communication! Yesterday's class kinda balanced up my life since I did manage to use up the daily quota in my word bank. Emotion kinda swung to the high side with boredom level sinking to a low. So... Mdm is a happy girl now.

Met John II yesterday. John II is a young englishman who has been living in Chiangmai for the past 1.5 years. Kinda interesting how these ang mohs are. How many of us back in Sg would opt to give up everything back at home for a laid back town, me wonder. John II is not a rich man cos he called Sg an expensive (but nice) place and he's definately not here on retirement visa. He's too young for that anyways. John II is picking up muay thai and is hoping to teach muay thai here, if not elsewhere. According to him, Chiangmai would still be his base no matter where he goes to. Amazing. Life is really too short to be thinking 2, 3 steps ahead, gotta live for the moment.

Side tracking, I've not seen a single elephant since my arrival. While driving yesterday, I saw a wild boar on the street.
