Chatterboxes

I like coming home and spending my afternoons at home with my mum because like the rest of the Chong family my mum can go on and on and on.

Food

Monday's delight by P

I now declare baking my favourite cooking method! Save the trouble of cleaning up the kitchen mess and it's healthy too. I am now hoping that I can bake/ steam every single dish so my kitchen would never be in a oily state

My kinda tasteless mushroom soup, plus leftovers from the buffet served the day before

The dish at the upper right hand corner is "Moo Tod", aka deep dried pork strips. It's finger licking good! I don't know how the Thais marinate it, but it's so fragrant and tasty. So if you are visiting Thailand, don't just stop at Tom Yum Goong!

And here's our first pot of orchids, from P's cousin.

Farang loves Thailand

If Thailand is lawless, the happiest bunch would most probably be them

Be back soon

Finally, we got the moving in ceremony over and done with. I guess it was ok-ish. We didn't have a splendid full-filled day but well, we survived.

We had a really rough week and I am glad everything's pretty much back to the norm. I am so glad that I am going to be home in less another 4 days. Seriously, I need some really good rest and I need some chilling out sessions with everyone back at home.

"Never say die" baker

Mdm felt so defeated last night that I went off to get baking soda (which I now know that it is different from baking powder) early this morning

And so, baking begins and

Tadahhhhhhhhh!!!

Doesnt look fantastic, I know, but it's yummy!!! Finally, my *first bake-an-edible-chocolate-cake quest is accomplished.

Kitchen blunder

I can't figure out if it tastes more like cookie or some chocolate flavoured foam sponge

This is my first time baking without my mummy.

Gardeners' monday

We spent our Sunday evening at my in-laws' farm and I was happily picking fresh vegetables, got a kick out of it and ended up buying some vegetable seeds at the fresh market while grocery shopping. After work on day 1 of the week (hogged by fatigue, retardation, etc.), we got 2 new planter boxes from the local flower market and headed home.

And so, we began planting our first crop in the garden!

Compared to me, the urbanite, P is actually very well-versed in all the gardening know-hows.

We are planting bak choy!!!

Our marriage is 3 yo!

Mdm created this, intending to send it to the printers, blow it up and hang it above our computer desk.

P and I had an unusually quiet 3rd anniversary. With our daily shuttles to the hospital, we were too occupied to indulge in celebration. P spent 2 nights straight at the hospital and was back on the 30th. Before the clock struck 12, he came to me and went "Happy Anniversary!". I wasn't expecting him to remember since I half suspected he wasn't keeping track of dates (P is dependent on Google calendar, and he must have not touched his lappie for a while). Anyway, it was to me surprisingly sweet since he was really held up by my FIL's hospitalization but he did remember it afterall. On the 1st (the day that marked our 3rd anniversary), I made brekkie. In the noon, I dropped by the supermarket, got his favourite chocolate, drove back home and laid it on the bed. When we got home at night after our trip to the hospital, he found the chocolate on the bed and went

P : "Why is there chocolate?!".
Looking extremely pleased (and guilty), he went
P : "Sorry, I don't have time to get you anything this year"
Me: "It's fine. But, was there anything last year?"
P : "I bought you FLOWERS. FLOWERS!"

Ha. He actually remembered but I didn't. It goes to show, men are not as simple-minded as they seem to be.

Happy FRIDAY!!!
