It's official!!! I had a casual chat with Mr Singapore this morning and according to him, Tigerairways had withdrawn their fleet out of Chiangmai permanently!!! ROOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRR.
That leaves me with the following alternatives:
1. Flying by Silkair
This is going to be the preferred choice but a return trip is going to cost me S$600.
2. Flying via BKK
A return trip will cost approximately S$300 but time travelled will be at least doubled, depending on the mode of travel from Chiangmai to BKK (i.e. bus, train or flight)
From my experience, the SG-CNX-SG flights have always been quite packed. We figured out that since both Tigerairways and Silkair are SIA affiliates, this must be some kind of business strategy to sustain Silkair's operation of the CNX route.
