It's freaking cold in the morning. I got up to a temperature of 11°C. It's kinda warmer now (temperature registering at 20°C) but I still find it hard to believe that I am experiencing this kinda temperature in Thailand. I mean, it's not extreme (like sub-zero or something) but I don't recall it was this cold same time last year. According to my last check with the weather bureau, it is colder here than Taipei and Hong Kong.
We are planning to make a trip up Doi Inthanon this weekend. Mdm has been bugging P to bring me up to the highest mountain in Thailand (with possible sub-zero temperatures) but he insisted that there's nothing up there except for a sign saying
"You have reached the highest point in Thailand"
Few weeks ago we met up with his friends (the same pair we went to Pai with earlier this year) and the 2 wives started discussing about having another road trip again. So Mdm, the half tourist, blurted the destination. The rest were pretty agreeable, especially now that it is getting cold on the mountains and we would be able to check out the frost at the break of dawn (something that amaze even the Thais).
We had an extremely lazy weekend, filling our stomachs with fast food then watching movie after movie (again). In the evening, P and I decided to make a trip to the furniture store. So there we were, with a pencil and measuring tape, we went round the store a couple of times selecting furniture for our imaginery house. The total cost (electrical appliances included) added up to over SGD30,000. That is the money we would have to save up for house renovation and we gotta throw in another SGD15,000 for downpayment. To start building our cozy little nest, we would have to come up with SGD45,000 in CASH. And THIS IS THAILAND (GDP per capita $8,000 2007 est.)!
