The final product

Followed by a evening plant hunt at the flower market. Here's our new purchase sitting next to the TV unit:

Finally, we have some green in the house!

And then it was a hectic night preparing for the arrival of our guests for the first BBQ, right in our garden. It was a night of good food, good company. Our guests just left and I am dead beat!!!

When I get up tomorrow, can it be Sunday again?

Gardeners' monday

We spent our Sunday evening at my in-laws' farm and I was happily picking fresh vegetables, got a kick out of it and ended up buying some vegetable seeds at the fresh market while grocery shopping. After work on day 1 of the week (hogged by fatigue, retardation, etc.), we got 2 new planter boxes from the local flower market and headed home.

And so, we began planting our first crop in the garden!

Compared to me, the urbanite, P is actually very well-versed in all the gardening know-hows.

We are planting bak choy!!!

Hello MERLION part 2

Adding on to the list in my previous post is a new item, i.e. catching up with my dearest cousins Mr. Yang commented that I have missed that out (and it seems that I am looking forward more to chicken rice than meeting up with my beloved cousins). This is so not true. I miss my cousins okay. Plus, how can I not catch up to update myself with the latest gossips in town (e.g. gf, new gfs etc.).

Mdm had a long gossipy conversation with MM yesterday. We talked about practically everything under the sun (dad, mum, cousins, her friends, my friends, the now in deep shit ming yi etc.). I came to realize that we have been sisters for almost 26 years now and my dear sister has past her quarter life mark!!! She's 26 and I got married at 26, meaning... OMG OMG OMG. Anyway, MM volunteered to be the coordinator for our family gathering (at our very own IR?). I didnt have to ask and she offered! How nice.

On a separate note, check out this very nicely done apartment, link here

I love the happy colours!

What is he looking at

This amusing piece is now sitting in our room and it never fails to invite unfriendly stares from P.

We went to the mall yesterday and I managed to grab some really nice Chinese New Year cards for the folks back at home. It's not hard to find these, the decorative stuff and even yummy goodies but it's hard to find someone to actually celebrate this festive occassion with. And the harder part is, you don't celebrate CNY with just anyone who's a chinese.

I was preparing to send out the cards yesterday night when I decided that

I WILL NEVER MISS CHINESE NEW YEAR AGAIN!!!

Mdm with a pair of scissors, thread and fabric

I was so inspired by what I saw in Burdastyle that I decided to go ahead with my project without any pattern sheets. I spent two consecutive nights with my beloved machine, which I have for the past few months left at a corner in our room to collect dust. And...

TADAHHHHHHHHHH!

It's my first try and it's definitely not perfect. But it turned out much better than expected! I actually wore it to work this morning, matching it with a little black skirt. =)))

And these are photos of work in progress

And my next project...

The Anda dress using Burda pattern #7969.

I have added another must have room to my dream house.

P will have a corner of this room to himself and this would be our studio/ workshop aka hobby room. So, my dream house will be completed with

1. An all-work-no-play-makes-P-a-dull-boy room

2. A hobby room

3. A big dress-me-up space right in our bedroom

and

4. An open concept kitchen!
