Past the half way mark
Felt Mini Us and knew it's definitely it, not gas in the tummy nor abnormal bowel movement for the first time on Friday 27th May. Looking forward to a close-up next Sunday when we have our next check up

Day 1 of week 19
Feeling excited that I am almost half way there. The lethargic feeling still lingers and I cannot make it past 11 pm on most nights. The bump has grown significantly over the past week and it's really surprising how you get up one morning, look at yourself in the mirror and go: OMG, I do look pregnant!!!
As whatever happens in life, especially to us Asians, there are people who are telling me the "should-be"s. Like I should be looking bigger than I am now at close to 5 months (and then giving me that "Are you not eating enough ?" look), I should be wearing loose fitting clothes to make sure the baby has room to grow, etc. Whatever it is, I trust myself that I have learnt to take good care of myself and Mini Us and I am trying to make it better each and everyday.
This is me this morning

Second trimester travels
A week at New Delhi with one day in Agra (and I am going to the majestic Taj Mahal!) this coming month end, followed by a day back at home then one full week in Bangkok. 8 days break from travel then 3 days back in Singapore, flying from Singapore to Phnom Penh for 5 days and coming back to Singapore for another 5 days. Amidst all, we received a very good piece of news about our grant application and boss came in today asking: " Can you make a trip to Dhaka?". DHAKA! In addition, planned Sri Lanka visit in June!!!
Work travels and leisure travels are definitely different by a thousand miles. I am looking forward to our vacation in Phuket this July, and I will do nothing but swim, eat and sunbathe.
Dear Mini Me,
You are going to be a fortunate baby! You'll see Taj Mahal and enjoy some authentic tandoori chicken right in Mama's tummy!
Yours truly
Mama

Rain before the heat
It has been raining quite a bit for the past few days, an expected weather change before the temperature rises in mid April. Buddy has to stay indoor the entire day, something that he's not so used to, especially when he doesnt get his toilet breaks outside. He still does it in the indoor tray, but only when he needs to and when he doesn't have the choice to enjoy the sun outside.
And here is Buddy with his friend, separated by the glass door. No dog play today.

Mini Us at 16 weeks 6 days
Dear Mini Us,
You slept all curled up yesterday and Dr. Cathreeya had problems measuring your weight. Mama and Papa were very fascinated when we heard you on the doppler. It's as though you are physically next to us already.
When Dr Cathreeya pointed to the protrusion and said it is your precious little, Mama couldn't help but felt a little disappointment. Mama grew up in a family of women and might have subconsciously wished for a little princess, someone close I can relate to and someone that reminds me of the many girly moments I share with the women in my life. Nevertheless, Mama is glad that you are you, and you are healthy. Mama hopes that you will grow up to be a fine gentleman, joyous, motivated, enjoying and appreciating every single day of living. And Mama believes that boy or girl, we will still share many good memories to come and we will still learn as much from each other.
Next month Mama'll go for the detailed scanning, remember to wave and say hi!
Yours truly,
Mama

My dream house
We found a very nice neighborhood yesterday, probably the only place in town that we would very much like to call home. Only problem is, the land (which is triple the size of our current place!) is as expensive as the sale of our house. Meaning we need to fork out more money for construction (i.e. designing the place ourselves, contracting a company and not living in modular housing) and furnishing. Tempting as it sounds, but we are not sure if it's a good idea to be having liability at this moment. But the huge space would mean alot for a growing family.
I am contemplating making a trip to Agra for Taj Mahal this month end when I am in Delhi, only concern is I am not sure if it is wise to take the 3-hour journey with Mini Us. Going to Delhi without a trip to Agra definitely sounds like an incomplete India trip
