Off to Hua Hin for 3 days 2 nights. I hope I will survive the flight and 4 hour bus ride. I hope I get time off to stroll along the beach and eat some awesome seafood. I hope P is going to be there with me.
Argh. Argh. Argh.

Buy a HDB flat and your fate lies in the hands of the authorities
HDB is telling me that key collection is tentative in the 4th quarter of 2012 but there can be an early completion and handover by the project management team meaning there is a possibility that I can collect my keys in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the year. The choices for me are:
- to pay a couple of hundreds to get a Power of Attorney
- to cross my fingers and pray that the deferment of key collection is within HDB acceptable time period (and they are not able to tell what is "acceptable time frame". What I do know is we cannot defer for too long as we "will have a problem then")
Doesn't the fact that I am heavily pregnant and is not allowed to fly/ I have just given birth and is in confinement makes it a valid enough reason for the deferment to be acceptable? I mean seriously, they are telling me that it could be any time from the 2nd quarter to the 4th. That is a whole 6 months and I am supposed to be on stand-by. Or, pay a couple of hundreds to get the PoA.
That's why I say, no matter how many Singapore Day you are hosting around the globe doesn't matter to people like us who are staying abroad for extended period of time. Go to this portal if you can: http://www2.overseassingaporean.sg/ and check the kind of crap they do. Seriously, they provide no answers to any of my questions regarding citizenship of my baby, application of citizenship by descent, how I can deal with authorities when I am aborad, etc. For goodness sake, we need a one-stop portal for convenience, not just a propaganda tool.

The Mama food entry
This is what I have for breakfast every morning. Before I retire for the night, it will be my daily supplements (folic acid, iron and fish body oil) and a glass of milk.
Food still doesn't taste good to me yet. I just eat because I have to. I am waiting for the day to come when I enjoy what I eat and feel blessed for the amount of good and tasty food getting into my system.

Little surprise on Monday
Came to the office with some biscuits on the desk. Boss knew I was having bad morning sickness and thought munching on some low calories biscuit will help.
This is why it never crossed my mind to be a stay at home mum.
Dear Mini Us,
Mama is trying to give the best to you. Mama just hope she don't binge and balloon beyond remedy in the process.
Yours truly,
Mama

Happy St. Valentine's!
Greeted by a huge ass bouquet on the kitchen island that is so not P's style.
Dear Mini Us,
As much as Mama is look forward to your arrival, Mama is also worried about the loss of intimate times with Papa. Papa and Mama have lots of adjustment to make but I am sure we will try our best.
Love,
Mama

To Mini Us
Dear Mini Us,
When we first saw you and Dr Cathreeya confirmed that you are safe and sound inside Mama, we were glad that you are growing well. Mama is trying my best to eat well, making sure that you get the essentials to develop into a healthy baby.
We do not know what kind of parents we will be, but we are looking forward to learning it from you what kind of parents we should be. Papa and Mama hope that you will grow up to be a fine young man/lady who is kind and compassionate, always filled with joy.
Yours truly,
Mama
P.S. The morning sickness is killing Mama

Thailand is the best
The reason why I love to be back:
- haircut Sgd 8
- massage Sgd 3.5
- mani+pedi Sgd 8
Less than Sgd 20 for a feel good day versus the rip off just to remove my gel mani back in Singapore (costing Sgd 20). This explains why the Thai ladies are always at their tip top.

Repercussions of Burma trip
This is a serious case of food poisoning. Bed bound for 2 days now. I am hungry but food fed in keeps getting out.
Save me from this!
Save me from this!

Bye Yangon
Got back to Yangon at 10.30pm after a 2 hour flight delay in Mandalay and checked in to a new place. Bell boy pointed out of the window enthusiastically in the direction of the well known pagoda and repeated "Shewdagon" like 3 times. I nodded and said "Yup, been there".
This morning as I lazed on the bed waiting for time to be consumed till my 4.40pm flight, I drew the curtains opened and was greeted by morning Yangon. It looked more welcoming than the night, probably due to my contentment from the good night sleep.
For a country so rich in history and filled with people so genuine and passionate, I hope the best for you Burma.
Good bye Burma
Next on the to do list: Catch "The Lady" in the theaters with P. It has been 20 days. I miss him and our buddy.
Baby, I am coming home.

Love from Mandalay
Mandalay unlike Yangon exudes spirit of a lively city. Isolationism that occurs Burma-wide till the 1980s is not evident in this city where modern buildings are sprucing and development is propelled by the influx of foreign investment particularly from China.
I wouldn't mind spending more time here in Mandalay. The weather is pleasing and I guess it's approximately 20 deg C now. The weirdest thing for our trip here is probably getting up at 6 for a 7.30am meeting. At Yangon, we set the alarm to ring at 8.
This is the last meeting for our trip and tomorrow is the last we are spending in Burma. This evening, we will be heading back to Yangon in the strange 50-seat plane that services like a bus making various stops before reaching our destination. A night after, I will be back in the comforts of my home, not having worries about mosquitoes attacks at night and getting paranoid about the possibility of sleeping on a bed bug infested bed.
I am not missing any food at the moment. Right now, I am just missing familiar faces.
